And who doesn't love Gold? I remember about a hundred years ago when I opened my first pack of Legends. I sifted through the booster and found a Chromium staring back at me. Not only was it one of the coolest looking cards I'd seen since I'd started playing the game, but it was just INSANITY wrapped up into one little card. It was like nothing I'd ever seen before, and at 2WWBBUU, I had no idea how I was going to cast him. But I wasn't worried about it. All I knew was that I WOULD find a way to summon this flying, rampaging, 7/7 Elder Dragon Legend, and it was going to dish out a nasty serving of justice upon all of my foes! Since those days the "gold card" has found it's way into many Magic sets, and to this day I still get that excited "Chromium" feeling every time I open a cool looking multi-colored spell.
So how in the world would I handle a set that contains *nothing but* Gold cards? Well, it seems I'm going to find out how in the next couple of weeks. It's official folks: Alara Reborn, the third set in the Shards of Alara cycle, will be ALL GOLD. All of the spells will be multicolored, and some will even use the ever popular hybrid casting costs. Sheer Nirvana for the multi-color fanatic.
And with that said, Front Range Magic is doing it yet again! We are planning yet another awesome Pre-Release Event for our community to enjoy, and I cannot wait to be a part of it.

Tournament fee is $30. Sign-up for Sealed Deck pods will begin at 8:30am and play will begin shortly afterwards. Decks will be constructed with THREE boosters of SHARDS OF ALARA and THREE boosters of ALARA REBORN.
Tournament fee is $40 for the team of two. The first Two Headed Giant Event will begin about 10am or when 16 teams have entered. Two decks will be constructed with TWO boosters of SHARDS OF ALARA, TWO boosters of CONFLUX and FOUR boosters of ALARA REBORN.
Anyone may purchase an Open Dueling kit for $15. Open Dueling kits INCLUDE a pre-constructed deck, ready for play — against other Open Dueling players, the Gunslinger, or tournament players who are between matches. After a participant has completed one Open Dueling Results Card, and the card has been verified by the organizer or a judge, he/she receives one complimentary booster pack of ALARA REBORN and a promo card (while supplies last)!
Drafts will commence at 2pm and will cost $15. The format will be Shards - Reborn - Reborn (with the occasional Shards - Conflux - Reborn draft, if players prefer).
Artist Franz Vohwinkel will be present, answering questions, signing cards, and selling some of his own art!

and got his diploma in 1991. In the same year, he also illustrated his very first game:
"Drunter & Drüber" by Klaus Teuber. Since then, he did illustrations and graphic designs for
over 200 games and it´s hard to imagine the german games scene without his work. For many years,
Franz Vohwinkel also has always been a huge Science Fiction and Fantasy Fan. In 1996 he got the
chance to do artwork for Magic: the Gathering and the Battletech TCG as the first German artist
ever. From this resulted the steadily growing part of Fantasy and Science Fiction illustrations
in Franz Vohwinkel´s work."
Well known and respected Magic Pro Brian Kowal will be in attendance! The creator of the ever popular standard deck "Boat Brew", will be gunslinging with the players, giving pointers, and offering advice! Be sure to swing by and play some games with Brian and take a shot at winning a booster of ALARA REBORN!
